If the thermostat is sticking would that be the cause for the temps being low as the above post suggests? If so I thought low temps were good, ie: not going to overheat the engine. Yesterday I drove up and down the freeway a few times and got the temps up to about 205-210 ECT and EOT were never more than 10 degrees from each other. IF the t-stats do need replacing, any idea on a cost and if its an easy job? T-stats on my boat are a piece of cake, same process or no?

t-stats at the dealer are 25 to 30 bucks. Not hard to change at all. As far as lower temps being good? Remember that a diesel has no spark plugs. It relies on compression and heat to fire the fuel. The warmer the engine the more efficient it is to a point. 190 to 205 or 210 will not hurt anything and give you maximum efficiency. My ect's are normally 195 to 204 empty or towing.

Don't know what you said right there, but your video at the beginning, the volts are too low.

FICM Vehicle Power (Volts) (Should be 12 Volts, should not drop below 10.25 for more than 60 seconds, or 9.0 for 4 seconds. TSB 09-24-03) Here is a link to that TSB

Not sure which SYC that is, but it should be #1 Camshaft & Crankshaft Sync (1 = in sync, 0 = not in sync)

If that is FICM SYC, you definitely are having FICM issues.

Your IPR is reading like the ICP should read. Not sure why, just check your entries.

I found another post in another forum after this one that was more up my ally.

I wasn't too far off.

I wasn't sure what to make of how his truck is running. Pretty rough.

The SYNC that was showing, if that was Cam&Crank sycn, and it was Not sycned, I'm not familiar enough with that to understand how a motor will run un-synced.

Crap, that sounds jibberish! ^^^

Should scangaugen excursion shows fault codes 2004?
My car is bad, but it seems to scangauge ready: (.
Scangauge (version 3.14) did not show any fault codes?
Why do you think Scangaugeen later update?
