I bought a cheepie code reader from Harbour Freight. The code I keep getting is a 1211 code which is not in the book I have withe the code reader. Can anyone tell me what this code means ?
P1211 Is Icp Above Or Below Desired ( Icp = Injection Controll Pressure ) Can Be Caused By Any Or A Cobination Of The Following Problems
Low Fuel Pressure
Bad Icp Sensor
Sticking Or Pluged Ipr
Weak High Pressure Pump
Poor Engine Oil Quality Eg. Aerated Oil
Excessive Engine Blow By
Or Last And Most Un Usual Problem Pcm
I added a mod that increases the pressure for the injectors in 6 stages.
That's probably what's causing the SES light to come on.
Per the person I purchased this ujnit from, the ECU was suppose to extinguish after a period of learning. But that does not seem to be happening. Or maybe I have just not given it enought time.......... Thanks Again..
I think it is more from high fuel pressure, since I did not have this problem until I installed the mod. Or until I turn the 6 position switch to about the third setting which equates to higher pressure
Have you measured your fuel pressure before and after the mod?? That would settle the question about the impact of your mod and if it might be causing the code...
i ger the same code but only when pulling up a pass ????? all my stuff checked out even replaced the pcm last year. told by local deisel shop its a false code and not to worry about it. truck runs great so i dont know.
I get this code P1211 at max boost near 30psi. My Predator tuner says its normal when the high performance tune is installed. Must be out of range of the PCM to throw this code. I don't know any fooler for this. I've since fooled the MAP sensor, and AIH so far. I also got another code at high boost. P0478 exhaust pressure control valve high input. I think there is a fooler for this one from Black Cloud, but haven't tried it.
Y2KEXC. I pulled the same code also, and I replaced the IPS sensor, and that seems to have fixed my problem, however my problem was erratic idle and the truck would stall on me when engine was hot. no problems on short trips but longer trips and it stalled out on me. I also pulled these codes, 1010 1011 1012 im still going to recheck and keep a lookout to make sure that it was the IPS sensor, so far it looks like that was my problem.I also noticed a slight miss in the engine just before I replaced the IPS sensor. now I dont have the slight miss either. the other code for ICP I have a new one just in case that is bad. replaced cps earlier thats why that code popped up. I hope this info helps you, thanks 01psd
what would you guys do with my truck everything checked out at ford and my truck runs great just get the code when pulling a pass? my truck had a chip before i bought it but the pcm has been changed since then?? could it have stored something some where else to cause this???
MTGRZLYMAN< hi you might have that code stored in memory see if you can get it cleared out then check to see if that does it comes back. thats about all I can see. someone will chime in with there thuoghts 01psd
i think they cleared it with the scanner??? you know i wasnt really haveing a problem until i installed my 6 inch lift and first trip out light came on when i was going up the pass?? maybe the tires are working it to hard
mtgrzlyman,
It could be th at your fuel pressure is dropping below an acceptable level when under that severe load. Have you measured your fuel pressure at idle and under load?
Just a thought..
I have a 6" lift on my Exc, with Nitto tires but I can't see where this would cause the 1211 code to keep returning after I clear the code. It seems to be returning when I have the chip set to above 50hp (BullyDog 4 pos sw)
or when I have the pressure 5 pos sw set too high and my foot gets too heavy.
I guess I'll just live with the SES light on or just keep clearing the code with a lighter foot.......
