Tach just started working...rmp question.

Ok the tach in my truck just started working all on its own tonight. It has not worked since I did the body swap. I want to make sure it is reading right. So does 21-2200 rmps at 60mph sound right. I have 3.55 gears with these 37" tires and the final ratio for the trans should be 1:1 with this t18. At 55 it reads right around 18-1900 rmps.

I use this to double check sometimes: Calulators from www.4Lo.com

Edit: that calc says im at 1940 rpm at 60 mph..... I always thought i was just a hair under 2k at 60 mph....dunno

My old 87 F250 had 3.55 with 235' tires

Rpm were around 2100-2200 at 55 mph. I am pretty sure it close to that.

Before the body swap I had 33's on it and the 88 tach worked. It ran at 2600 rmps with the same 3:55 gear. It is gonna be hard to give up that gear ratio when I swap in the 4:10's later this year. But I need the lower gears for towing in these hills and the ones futher south.

Anybody have a set of 3:55 gears they want to swap for my 4:10? I have a 1987 N/A 6.9 and would love to go to a higher gear. I live in middle georgia if that makes a differance.
