As many of you know, I did an EGR delete, oil cooler rebuild early this year. Two weeks ago I had to replace my FICM due to a no start condition. Once the FICM was replaced, the truck was running great. I went on vacation for 2 weeks while the truck stayed at home in the garage. Today I took the truck out and seem to have more issues. I have a rather large case of the turbo farts, never had those before, and I seem to be overboosting alot. On the expresswasy at 70mph with no load it took 17 psi of boost to maintain speed. It just felt like the truck was really working although the tach was reading 2k rmps. The boost gague seems to be spiking very easily even on rather easy acceleration. Does this sound like stuck vains? Does my 04 require any type of relearn process? If the vains are stuck, what do I do now? I had 3.5 trouble free years owning this truck but now all he** seems to be breaking loose.
Stuck vanes could be an issue. Could you also go into what all was done(if you know) with the delete kit you used. It could be one or both of those depending on what was done with regard to the delete kit.

Tex,
I did a full delete a few months back. I made an exact replica of Scott's system as depicted in the following link... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...gr-delete.html Truck ran fine afer the delete and oil cooler were done. A couple weeks ago my FICM went out and I got a reman from swamps diesel. The day I put the FICM in I helped a friend move and the truck ran great. I was only towing about 2k lbs but it still ran great. The truck sat for 2 weeks while I was on vacation. Today things just didn't feel right. My isspro boost gauge was all over the place. Boost seemed really high on even an easy accelaration from a stop light. On the expressway with no load, it took about 17psi of boost to maintain speed. I believe it normally runs about 7 psi at 70mph. EGT's look fine. I am afraid if I get on it too much to try to clear things up, I might cause more damage. It almost felt like the trans was not shifting into 5th gear, but that can't be it because I was running 2k rpms at 70 which is normal for my truck. Should I just try running the truck a bit more??? Any help is always appreciated.
EGR cooler is deleted which would mean EGR valve is inop correct?
In of itself no. You will need a custom tune to render the valve inoperable and to tell the truck's computer not to look for the EGR sensor. I would also weld it shut just to make sure that it isn't moving a little bit despite tuning(been known to happen, although rare).
I plan to have tuning done this week by innovative. If I unplug the EGR valve, that should be a solution as well correct? Does it sound like I may have stuck veins in the turbo? This would make some sense as the truck did just sit for 2 weeks while I was on vacation. If I did have stuck veins, what is the chance the issue will fix itself through driving. Can I hurt the truck??
Sounds like I may be pulling the turbo out this weekend. IIRC, I only need to remove the airbox, degas bottle and both tubes from the intercooler, is that correct. Anything else need to come out? What is the best cleaning pad to get for the die grinder and where can they generally be purchased?

There is a write up on that in the Tech folder linked in the thread VGT turbo ABCs if I recall. I haven't had a VGT turbo in so long and I hadn't had the pleasure of needing to clean it. The way I pulled the turbo was taking the airbox out, unhooking the line that goes to the degas bottle and that was it. It took awhile to pull the turbo though.
