Cool Making Progress and have a question ...

... uuups, overlooked that there were more "serious" replies to my thread.

'fenders, ... yeap, in fact it took me roughly 15 minutes to mount the shifter with all bolts loose (as the instruction say). Guess it'll take me another 3 - 4 minutes to tighten them. Guess that's world record. I will call the Guiness Book of Records guys and ask 'em to come to my house. So look out in the next addition under "S" as in Shifter Installation.

Seriously, ... the Lokar Nostalgia Shifter is a piece of artwork. It looks great and I have no reason to believe that it won't work great. The instrctions (as mentioned by someone else recently on another thread) are a piece of *****. One might wonder why that is in the days of computers. Guess my 10 year old could do a better one within a half a day or so.

All, ... I have no tail gate. But if I had one it would read something like: Too Fat to Fly. The only reason why I would agree to a SMV sign is the fact that I have 4,56 gears in my Detroit Locker equipped Nodular (a real 70s vintage one, not a copy) pumpkin. GUess that needs to be changed to qualify for the left lane on the Autobahn.

George, ... do I have to paint a red stripe over my truck to mark it "Not For Flight" ? Will a flat red one be OK ? Yor advise is very welcome.

All, ... I am afraid I have to agree with 'fenders on the SBF (incl. 351W). This is one fine engine which can make lotsa lotsa noise, power, smoke, ... and with the right level on money put into it will run circle around all the rest. I am afraid that that would require an IFS cause the original suspension hates to go circles fast.

Kai

Where does that 23 inch shifter handle end up? That was my only reservation with the Nostalgia line. You will like the performance of the shifter.

I guess I forgot to tell you I dropped a note to Haywire regarding their amatuer instructions. They are now in CAD for most of their products. Too late to help us but our whining made the world a better place I guess.

You don't have to change the diff gears. Wheelies are cool!

Thumbs up Making Progress and have a question ...

'fenders, ... it will not fit any top chopped truck !!!

OK, OK, maybe it is not that long. The shifter will pretty much be as high as the lower edge of the dash. Have not had it on the tranny which I have in the truck right now. Saw it "live" on the White SoCal 53 F100 when I was in Phoenix last fall. Cool.

Hope you mentioned to Haywire that the Germans don't like it either. Thanx.

... for now I will stick with the 4,56ers. Guess a pair of rubber every once in a while is cheaper than a new complete pumpkin (I wanna keep this one as is and get me a brand new one with 3,50s).

Kai, it's a slang word example, if you see a really nice looking woman you might say she's fatt, not meaning she's obeast. Or if you see a really nice car or truck you would say that ride is fatt, it could be about a nice suit or even a house, anything that looks cool or nice.

Making Progress and have a question ...

Actually darkhorse it's Phat or so my younger friends (the ones who help me cross the street ) tell me.....

ANd since I am somewhat horizontally challenged, (read fluffy, plump, big boned, husky) I kind of like Phat being cool, course it does make it hard to fit into my 55 f100 (Just got it in !!!)

Hands, I believe you're right I was tossing that word around in my head about the wright spelling, there's alot of empty space up there and it is a teens pronounciation anyway.
