HID Headlights

For anyone that is still wanting to do the HID install check out this site HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning
I ordered the 55W headlight kit and 35W fog light kit and am really happy with them. I've only installed the headlights as of yet but they were a piece of cake and took roughly 30-45min, all plug and play with no cutting or splicing. I could have done it faster but they don't provide any instructions so it took me a few extra minutes to make sure I was looking at everything the right way. Truck looks a lot better with the brighter lights and they definately throw more light at night. All in all they are a great product at a great price. They do offer lifetime warranty, not sure how good it will be but hopefully I don't have to find out for quite awhile. Here is a link to another thread that offers a lot of info on them if you have any other questions. Cheers

I have the same 55w DDMTuning lights installed on my 08. I do get a number of light flashes from oncoming drivers.. I haven't found any way to address this problem yet.

the low beam brightness is much better overall than the high beam in my opinion.

our 08 Suburban brights are amazing..

All that misdirected light can be dangerous to oncoming vehicles as well as yourselves. It's illegal to install HID bulbs in housings designed for halogen bulbs, as the beam pattern is completely different and thus the reflector can't operate as designed.

I would highly recommend installing headlamp assemblies that are designed for HIDs if they are available, otherwise you are creating a hazard for other drivers.

And for what it's worth, my Mustang has HID lights that came stock. They are nice and bright, but not enough of a difference for me to install them on something fitted with Halogens. I like 'em though, even though they were a $525 option!

I got the hi/low kit with the slim ballast and that was it. I am pretty sure the harness and error eliminator are only needed on certain cars. As Tom said they can be bad for oncoming traffic but they can easily be adjusted to point lower and save some people flashing you. There is an adjustment screw on the top of the housing that is easy to get at.

Thanks for the info. I came across their website a week or two ago and almost made an impulse buy when I saw how cheap their kits were, but I figured they had to be poor quality for that price. Guess they are pretty good after all

I have a set of 35W 4500K DDM's in all 4 of mine... never been flashed once by anyone. 55W units must be BRIGHT!!

The only issue I've had so far is one ballast flashing the bulb on startup but it fails to remain lit. Seems to be a connector problem...I've reseated it and it seems to have fixed it.. I think one bulb seems to have colorshifted a bit; supposedly the lifetime warranty will take care of that, but I haven't sent it back yet.

Otherwise, no regrets at all!!

I had a set of Silverstars before these, and they were a disappointment. For a few $$ more, these DDM's are a no brainer.

got a set myself but havent installed them yet. My HD truck has the tinted headlamps so Im not expecting oncoming traffic to flash me. I think the adjustment screw takes a #5 torx socket if I remember right. I had to adjust mine when I installed the front leveling kit.

I have been running the DDM kits on my motorcycles for a few years. I had one ballist that puked shortly after install, DDM picked up shipping there and back with no issues. They sent me the wrong bulds for one of my projects and sent out the correct ones and picked up the shipping on those to. Overall DDM seems to offer good customer service.
