I have a 01 superduty that will not stop leaking trans fluid. I have replaced the pan, pan gasket and the seal between the transfer case addapter plate and the trans. any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. It looks like it is leaking from the pan gasket on the back of the pan. But with the new BD 11 quart pan on thier I am not sure. wondering if any body else has ran into or heard of a stang trans leak ???
well they make a dye you can put in your oil or tranny oil and with a black light, you can see where the fluid is leaking from. I know NAPA auto sells the dye and not sure where u can find a inexpensive light. Maybe a cracked case.
Hate to see ya have to go to the Dealer.
I never had a trans leak, but my transfer case did and it would leak after a day of sitting, took 3 trips back to the dealer for them to fix it, it had a micro fractor in the front half. that would only leak after it ran then sat over night. the way i spotted it was to clean it as good as i could get it, then use a black light at night, and marked it with a marker.
Well, have you tried Bubbaz1 idea and the vent. I never knew about the vent, but if its over full, it will find somwhere to get rid of the extra... Do you check your fluid the way Ford says to do it? Have you always had this leak or did it just start? Assuming the pan is aluminum, did you tourque it correctly?
Oh Man!? Really? Thats a pisser! Did you ever have the lines off? Tranny flush? Sorry Man. A lot of frustration over a loose line. Well that dye would have come in handy there. It glows a Bright Green Just Follow the trail to the source. Oh well. I'll take that 11 qt pan if your lookin to trade it out
Glad ya found it!
