oil pan keeps leaking
allright my 300 6 cyl keeps leaking at the rear of the oil pan. i have replaced the oil pan with a replacement pan and went to the one piece rubber gasket. I put it all back together and it leaked at the rear of the pan. did it all over again and it didn't leak for about 30 seconds and then it started back.
I had the rear main seal replaced @ 2 weeks before the pan started leaking the first time. any ideas??? thanks

tHE REAR MAIN BEARING CAP HAS A TINY CHAMFER IN THE OUTER CORNERS TO AID IN GETTING THE CAP STARTED TO SEAT ON THE BLOCK. iT IS NECESSARY TO PUT A DAB OF SEALER IN THE CORNERS OF THE BLOCK RECESS WHERE THE CAP SEATS OR OIL WILL HAVE A LEAK PATH PAST THE #7 BEARING CAP CHAMFER INTO THE BELLHOUSING AREA.

yea I used rtv both times and it still leaks at the rear of the pan.never had this problem before on any other oil pans I have replaced.i guess I am going to pull the engine out and see if I can turn it over and see what is the problem
