i have leaks around my trans pan and i believe the gasket is bad. i youtube'd it and it looks easy enough to change. any tips before i get her done........thanks.
when installing cork gaskets I always tell everyone this. To keep them from leaking due to over tighting, use a 3/8" rachet to install the pan. hold the rachet at the head (where it rachet at) to tighten so that you will not have any leverage. trans pans do not need to be to tight. if you do it this way in a crossing patteren, much like you would putting on a wheel, you will not have any problems. oh and 1 more thing when takeing the pan off lossen all bolts with a drain pan under it. start taking the bolts out of one side then lossen the others alittle at a time. this will allow the fuild to drop out of the pan from the side you took the bolts out of. it will keep you from getting trany fuild every where. I would change the internal filter while I was there. GL and let me know if you have any questions.
