Trans mount

I have a 86 F150 with AOD and 4x4 and bad trans mount. Part stores carry trans mount with similar brands that exclude 85-86 AOD 4x4. Have tried Autozone, O'Rielly, Napa, Bronco Graveyard, LMC, Rock auto with same results. Any one know of any other places to look? Trans has unique center to center spacing on top part of mount. William

I remember long ago a post were someone was having the same problem finding this mount. I would check with the Ford dealer and see how much one is. If it's too high, I would get the wrong one from the parts store and see if it's possible to re-drill the holes. If it's not possible, just take it back and get your money back.

I assume this is a 302, since the truck parts catalog does not list a specific AOD/4WD mount for a 300/351W. Please, when asking questions, list all the pertinent info.

HIGH BUCK! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has 8 = 800-676-0675. Call as a last resort, cuz this snake wants mega-bucks for obsolete parts.

VINTAGE PARTS INC. in Beaver Dam WI has 45 = 877-846-8243.

No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Thanks numberdummy. I didn't even think about the engine size making a difference, but yes it is a 302. I finally found posts about that part number where others have also been looking for them over the years. How do you find obsolete parts on web? I now have the 86 F150 and added a 89 Lincoln Mark VII to my collection that will need parts in the future.

Here's a suggestion: PartsVoice.com. Registration and searching for parts is free and more than just VW & FoMoCo parts are listed (Need parts for a "Fix It Again Tony?" Who doesn't, who owns one a these piles!).

The Ford obsolete parts vendors are listed, plus about 30% of the FoMoCo Dealers.

I used PartsVoice for the source in WA (snake Bob Allen is also listed). But Allen and the rest of the dealers are listed on the in-house FoMoCo Dealer Parts Locator System.

That's where I got the refs for the sources in WI & IN

btw: When you get on PartsVoice, you will see that Collectors Auto Supply in WA lists 22, but they list a quantity of 22 for darn near every part they have! Usually, they only have one.

Im having the same problem on my 85, where did you end up finding one at? I cant seem to find one anywhere.

I have access to a mill, so I bought the common mount and milled the holes to a new center dimension. This only left about a 1/16” of metal on the two ends.

So, the 2448 I know doesn't fit. Its too short and doesnt line up with the tranny which is the problem everybody described above in the thread. Has anybody tried the 1798? Does it fit on the troublesome 1986 f150 4x4 302 AOD? Thanks.
