i have a 95 f150 with the 302 and the aode/w transmission in it. I am look for a new torque converter and front pump assembly but all I can find is parts for the aode and 4r70w transmissions. My question is can these parts be interchanged between the the different transmissions? Also what are the differences between the aode/w, 4r70w, and the aode transmissions. And if the parts are not interchangeable, where could I find these parts for my trans?
I clicked on the transmission tht I have and then clicked on find parts or whatever but it said he no long runs the website or whatever. So how would I contact him about parts??

They are dropping like fly's it seems. Hell to get old.
Here is another vendor. Most parts do not have to be sourced from FORD but be aware of quality.
And just so you're not totally confused, AODE and 4R70w are essentially two names for the same transmission. If you look up the trans code on the drivers door pillar decal trans code U = 4R70w but parts houses and transmission shops use both names interchangeably.
But most parts are not interchangeable. There are significant changes between an AODE and a 4R70W. The 4R70W came from the AODE, but it is NOT the same transmission.

well I checked tht on the door pillar and the code is a "u" but the trans ID tag on the trans it's self said aode.
It means that pan will fit an AODE or a 4R70W. If I remember right when Ford started working on the 4R70W it was going to be called the AODW, but they changed it to 4R70W before it hit production.
Yes the pans are interchangable. Ford used the same pan all the way through production.. the 4R75w in my '06 E250 has the same pan. The moral of the story is that stamping in the pan does not ID the trans, the only version of this trans ever used in this vintage truck was the 4R70w so that is what you buy parts for.

You need to find the Trans I.D. Tag on the trans, copy the code and get one of the guys here to give you the correct PN's for the parts needed.
I have learned you never say never regarding . What is supposed to be in there may not be in there. Different assembly plants and production stage/date of assembly dictates how it (vehicle) was assembled.
The ASM I.D. Tag should be on the RH side of the case. Positively I.D. the asm before ordering parts unless you enjoy sending stuff back. It may even have TSB update service parts in it.
