I have a 04 f350 with the 6.0. has been a really good truck for me. Here is what it is doing.
I can start and run. Sometimes if I shut it off then restart you can hear the engine it is like real quiet no accelerator pedal response and if you do get it to respond it puffs out white smoke.
Now if it starts this I can shut it off and restart it and it will be fine the next time I may have to do it 4 or 5 times before it quits this. Once it quits it it will run great as always. It may not do it again for any number of miles then again it might do it the next time at restart
have you hooked it up to a code reader
maybe a bad Accelerater pedal
look at the wire harness coming of the acc pedal is it rubbing on the steering colum
maybe a bad FICM IDK
or wire chaff somewhere
is the SES light on
it may have codes without the light being on most auto part stores will scan for free
Wel took it to dealer they ran the computer on it all came back perfect and I was standing there. Could it be the EGR needs a good cleaning??? And it has not done it for 3 days now. Imagine that. Any additional help would be appreciated...
What do you guys think of the bulletproof egr cooler and the oil cooler.
well FWIW Id get a scangauge and just start watching it you might be able to catch something when its acting up intermittened problems suck
might be wire chaffing somewhere
then your not buying stuff you dont need
as far as the BPD egr cooler and new oil cooler you might want to monitor your EOTvsECT temps before you start changing parts why fix it if it aint broke and it wont solve the issues your having anyway
if you find that your spread ECTvsEOT is out of spec BPD egr cooler is the way to go with a new oil cooler

best deal out there for the money IMHO
they really did not have an answer. do you think it could be the egr valve or no way.... Kinda look for chaffed wires did not see anything also I remember them doing a wiring update. any other ideas. I'm not one for fixing if its not broke either.
Original head gaskets yet, and I have a 115 hp predator module on it with 4" exhaust. I have a quad guage pillar here that I'm going to put in it. It will have the trans temp, boost, and 2 EGT guages, probes will be in the manifolds with the thinking that if one half of the engine messes up I will be able to tell which side anyway by egt's
You can run a single gauge, 2 thermocouples, and a switch to toggle between the two. I've done that with O2 sensors on gas motors I've worked on. The fourth hole would be better filled with a fuel pressure gauge IMO.
