Ok, I couldn't wait. I ran out and started the truck, stuck my hands back around the turbo connections. No leak at the EGR up pipe, or the turbo up pipe, but I do in fact have a pretty bad leak at the Y pipe connection.
So we bolted the turbo down before connecting the pipes. I am wandering if we loosened everything back up, clamped the pipes first so that there will be a little give from the turbo, then bolt down the turbo??
This sucks, visually the pipes look like they are lined up perfectly.
I bought a new CAC boot and Y-Pipe clamp put them on. After taking the Y-Pipe clamp off I could see that it was no aligned. I got them aligned and put the new clamp on.
Now I get the pleasure of troubleshooting a NO Start issue!!! I turned my perfectly good truck in to a paper weight!!
sorrey about the no start you had it runing last night I thought a little turbo leak and cac boot and ya had it made
Could a ficm connector or something come loose while you were playing with the turbo
great pics reps given
I checked the voltage at the FICM, 48 Volts with the key on, and cranking. I pulled the ICP connector still wouldn't start. When its turning over it sounds normal, but when it tries to start its knocking, it almost sounds like its coming from the turbo. I wouldn't think its anything major because I ran it through at least 3 run cycles to get the air out of the HPO system....
The problem is I don't have any tools to test short of a volt meter. So I am going to tow it in and have it looked at. At least when they find what is wrong, it wont have an exhaust leak!!
Thanks for all the help, you were right on the money with what I had up to the no start! I will update you with the results...
