I've got the Turbo, EGR Cooler and Intake off and am going to be removing the oil cooler tomorrow to rebuild it. I have read so many EGR Cooler/Oil Cooler threads on this and other forums that have many ideas of what to do while everything is apart. I would like to do all that I can afford and don't want to miss anything that would cause me to have to do this again anytime soon.
I wish someone would tell you something i am right where you are and thinking the same thing. what do you have to do to rebuild the oilcooler? I already have it out

It's an 05 all stock. I am planning to do all of the flushes with VC-9 and the Fleetrite Restore. Then adding a coolant filter along with changing to the Fleetrite ELC coolant and adding gages. But I am more concerned with things like the STC kit and the fuel pressure spring before I start putting it back together. I am concerned about getting in over my head by getting into the STC kit. Where can I find more information about the STC and Spring? Thanks for all of the responses. Bismic, I am using your instructions for the oil cooler rebuild. Thanks.
I would wait to get a fuel pressure gauge first before doing the upgrade. So that you can see what you have before the new spring kit.
KIT - PRESSURE REGULATOR 3C3Z-9T517-AG
Do you have a part number for the updated dummy plugs or do they come in this kit? Local Ford Dealer parts guy also talked about short pipes.
IIRC that kit is everything you need to replace the plugs and seals in the high pressure oil rails. If the part number isn't correct then the Ford parts guy can update it for you because IIRC they have added backup rings to the o-rings on the plugs and stand pipes.
Why not an EGR delete while you're in there instead of an egr replace?
Also, I recommend reading this thread over on the org, guy replaced his oil cooler several times before it was in good shape. (sry for linking to another forum)
You could also install the ITP regulated return while you're there to help with consistent fueling, as well as guages(egt, fuel press) but those can be done when its all back together.
