Took me like an hour and a half to get it twisted out of there the first time I pulled mine. The more gunk that is built up on it the tougher she is to pull.
And don't think you can use channel locks on the top plastic part and try to finess the thing around, it just leads to breakage. It seemed like a good idea at the time though.
Well the POS wouldn't come out. I put the bolts back in and am just gonna cut my losses today and wait till I can get a friend's help.
Another problem though! The bolt on the passenger side broke as I was putting it in! And I put barely any pressure on it. I think the problem was I didn't let the truck cool down enough and the bolt got too hot from the engine.
Another question though...if I have an EGR delete done...should I keep my valve plugged or unplugged? It's on an 03. The reason I ask is because I'm having boost issues and don't know if the valve could possibly be to blame
You can unplug yours, 03-04 dont throw a check engine light.
It may not throw codes but there is plenty of info on here that connects the EGR valve being plugged in to proper fan function. I have an EGR delete and left the valve plugged in for that purpose.
