The bronco starts fun when it's cold. But after making a run to the store or where ever, once the water temp gets up to normal, it has issues starting. it will start but then will idle super low like it's starving for fuel and sometimes kill it's self. If i give it some gas it will idle up then back to normal. I'm just worried it won't start on me one time. Any ideas on this?!?
Only other thing I can think of right now, is the PIP. Would be part of the ICM/TFI or perhaps the Dizzy if the stator is going out??. I think Lew, RLA2005, and Subford have a bit more knowledge on this. Sounds very close to what your describing.
Could try the hairdryer trick and heat the TFI/ICM module up and see if you have a hard time starting it when the engine is cold.
TFI is a type of ICM.
ICM=Ignition Control Module.
Your Bronco takes a Black one but they will try to sell you the wrong one and the wrong one will be a Gray one.
But I dough the ICM is your problem.
More likely a bad ECT or IAT sensor.
But you need to check to see what codes you may have stored.
I have a ford tester to the non obd2 trucks. I have not had a cel on and I disconnected the bat. I'll take to parts house and see if there is anything stored. It's frustrating. Thanks for the idea though!

If you disconnect the battery or remove it there will not be any stored codes to read.
Interesting, my 89 F150 300-6 does this also. But it's intermittent, doesn't do it all the time. most of the time though. Starts fine cold, warm/hot starts fine, revs low/stalls or stumbles really low then comes back up by it's self after 5-10 seconds.
I would check the ECT or IAT sensor as Subford described earlier. Using a DVOM, check the resistance of each sensor Cold. Then drive the truck until warm and then get another reading for each sensor. If either one haven't dropped significantly, then this is starting point.
Also want to note, the IAT=Intake Air Temp sensor can get all gummed up. I try to remove mine once a year and clean it, to ensure it's not coated in deposits. As far as the ECT sensor, I wouldn't repace with a cheap brand replacement. I believe Ford still makes this part with a rigid housing and a brass tip. The newer aftermarket ones are plastic. Have heard of 2 people breaking these off when they are seized or could also have been in a hurry.
Where / what is the ECT sensor? I can get the IAT cleaned up and I will perform the resistance test.
No codes stored either FWIW. But I do notice that every time I fill up at the gas station, when unscrew my gas cap, it sucks/blows alot of air... i this normal?
