My Radar Detector Mount

I just thought for those interested in an elegant mount for your radar detector, you might like to see how I mounted mine. When I saw this a few months ago, I knew I had to have it.

I have no relationship with either company, aside from being a satisfied customer. The actual mount is from Blendmount.com - Custom Radar Detector Mounts* Escort Beltronics Valentine One and the power cord which powers the detector by tapping into the power at the mirror is from Invisicord Products Home Page

Anyway, just thought I would share with the group in the event anyone else was looking for an easy, fast mount for your detector that beats a hardwire to the fuse box, or even worse, a cigarette lighter cord in your way all the time.

If you have any questions about the mount, just let me know. I would be happy to share my experience.

This truck is soooo easy to look down a see you are going 85 MPH and not even realize it. I am glad I have my Passport. I feel naked driving without it. It has already saved me several times in this truck. My mount was a bit simpler. A 2"x2" piece of sticky velcro and a perfect little flat spot on the dash next to the left side of the windshield just under the "oh $#!t" handle. Ran the wire under the plastic and around by the door and down under the dash, through the firewall to the fuse block. Found a spare fuse that is hot when the key is in the ignition and volia'. Works perfectly!

People still use radar detectors?? I got more speeding tickets with a radar detector than I ever got without. I now use the 5 over rule and it hasn't failed me yet. In Michigan the police can tell if you have a radar detector and they will get you, can't talk your way out of a ticket if they know you have one...

Some of us have to obey the law or pay the consequences.

I don't "actively" speed much anymore but it is still nice to know where you are hiding.

question: How did you feed your wiring under that trim panel? That panel on my truck vibrates, rattles and annoys the s*** out of me!

Nice, clean looking!
