AMP Retractable Steps

Pulled of the chrome tubulars and added the AMP retractables. I like the step height much better. I like the "nerfless" look better. I think it even makes the truck look slightly lifted.

Now you see them:

Now you don't:

5" chrome tube steps going on the classifieds. PM if interested.

I'm installing a set on mine in the morning. Any hints or words of wisdom after installing them?

It is a very straight forward install. Read the directions all the way through a couple of times first.

You will love them!

Thanks how long did they take to install? I'm going to do the steps and try to install airbags tomorrow.

Cool, I should be able to knock those out, get the airbags and the bedrug installed if the day goes well.

anyone have these in a cold climate where you have to worry about snow and ice build up? If ice builds up on a long drive does it restrict them from opening or damage them when they try to open?

BTW great looking truck.....

The motors have a sensing unit in them and if there is any resistance to them operating then they reset. It is a safety feature but aslo prevents damage to the unit it it were locked up due to ice etc. They have been tested in many climates and you can see a plethora of tests run on them at the AMP website. I have not been able to test them personally in the snow (since I just put them on yesterday) but in all the time I have had them, they have performed flawlessly!

My drivers side one didn't open one morning from the snow/ice buildup (I don't have any front mudflaps). A swift kick to the step to break the ice up and the step came down no problem. They worked great this winter here in PA, no issues in cold climates (single digits, snow/ice, etc).

Both
The steps look nice.

I'm looking for a place to do a holster mount kinda like you did.
One little problem, it's a S&W 460
