I just wanted to share my experience with mounting my Escort 8500 (blue) in my new (three month old) 2010 F-150 Lariat.


I purchased a radar mount from country crafts. I got their 23mm “super Z mount”. I then went to invisicord and purchased their 8” standard invisicord.


The invisicord taps into the mirrors 7 pin connector from the back. The yellow pin goes to pin 1 and the black pin to pin 3 on the connector.


Snugged everything up and it works/looks great. Detector turns on and off automatically with the ignition.

Hope this helps anyone wanting to mount their detector.

Got the 2011 Expedition XT the mirror has a 10 pin plug.
Use the #1 black for the ground and the #6 pin for the yellow pin. This will be the switched pin and will turn the radar detector (8500) on and off with the ignition.
