Help w/ Hose Part #
So glad that you folks are updating the thread as time goes on.
My 2005 Excursion 6.0, gave up the wye fitting on passenger side while I was in Baja Mexico this past week. Talk about "in the middle of nowhere"!!!
... I found a local yard mechanic, who had went through his (junk) yard of abandoned cars and cut out pieces of hose... then, to make me couplers he cut 3" sections of A/C or similar hard tube. I had the hose clamps, and used a couple from my coolant filter. I simply bypassed the heater core by running a hose from engine hard line (not sure what to call it) that's under the alternator over to the similar sized hose below the coolant reservoir/capture tank. Disconnecting that hose (which on my rig, runs over to the heater core via hard line and back to hose) and connecting the two in/out bypassed the heater core and rear lines all together.
Ran it home 200 miles (while towing a 10k lb trailer) and it did fine.
Now... to repair, using the SS wye or the Dorman Wye. The SS wye is no longer listed for sale on that website. It says to "find a dealer". So I'll try the dorman cast alum wye and go with it. Unless someone has a better link for that same SS wye???
It also just so happens, my o-ringed head (fire rings) gave up the ghost too. So I'm pushing coolant out the reservoir cap (only when I'm tuned of course)... so, I've been running it de-tuned (stock) and it's been okay since. Not sure that plastic OEM wye died due to too much pressure... but, by reading all your issues it looks like it was prone to failure no matter.
Below are the pictures of the fitting, and how it's leaking (squirting like a sprayer from the glue seam in the wye fitting).
Lastly.... I see others saying the ID of the hose is 5/8" ... I didn't measure, but would love to know for sure.
I thought to simply order this (in 5/8) and be done with it;
Sound off for those in the know!!! Thanks a million!!!!
I googled that SS wye fitting and found another "maple farm" type website that lists;
So... WHICH SIZE is correct???

They list other sizes too;

Let me know asap PLEASE!
If you lost a good amount of coolant, you may have overheated the heads. More likely to stretch the head fasteners by the exhaust ports, and if not, bowed the head.

Also... the loss of coolant was minimal BEFORE the trip. So minimal, that it was maybe a 24oz fill to refill the reservoir back to full. During the trip, we were running with no issues... nothing being pushed out the 16psi reservoir cap and no EGTs above 1200°. So the "head gasket" issue started on another trip when I was towing with a "tow safe" tune, and EGTs climbed above 1400° for no more than a mile. The Excursion has a 'hot tune' called Super Panty Dropper when driven on occasion (not a daily driver) and I'm NOT easy on the skinny pedal. But it was bullit proofed and head studded long ago. BUT, that's another topic for another day.
Mine is doing well, not a problem in the world (while sitting in the driveway literally 99% of the time) ...................

I noticed another one of these oem plastic wyes down under the coolant reservoir (drivers side)... anyone have issues with that one, or any other?? Time to replace them all???
I have not messed with any other one (not ever worked on an Excursion).
The one under the degas bottle has failed on a number of people, so yes - replace it also.

....but only because I should've ordered BOTH the wye you linked me to but ALSO the wye for the passenger side that is my current problem.
SO.... WHO KNOWS the size for the PASSENGER side wye on an EXCURSION (as I pictured in a previous post)
