The droid x seems to really be well integrated. Can play back music from both bluetooth and usb, phone book loaded - no problems. Health reports run fine, lilke I said, seamless operation.

Looked the Droid X up. Yep, it is one that should work. Has PBAP and MAP for phone book and messaging. Some of the Motorola and LG units are setup for working with Sync, others not.
Ford said that they would include the most prominent standard, once one was agreed upon by the industry. That means an actual inclusion into the bluetooth protocol, not just a (proprietary) licensed add-on. They are currently supporting that too, but not many device manufacturers are willing to license it. Here's hoping that someday soon, a free version is available and integrated in the the BT stack.
