I noticed that a new Sync update is out, so I went to the website to download it. The website said that I have the latest version. Is Ford/Microsoft not supporting this version anymore? My Sync seems to work fine, except that it won't read the texts form my new smart phone, telling me there is no text messaging phone available, which is wrong. I should have stayed with my old dumb phone, but that's a story for another day.

If you PM your VIN, I'd be happy to verify that your vehicle is running the most current version of software. In reference to the text messaging capabilities, some SYNC features are phone dependent - which means that the SYNC system offers the feature across the board, but relies on the phone's design in order for the device to work with it. I would recommend removing your previous post as it contains private information that can identify you. Based on your software standing I am showing your vehicle to be running version 2.1, which I can confirm is the most current iteration that is available for your system.

I went to the link provided and it says that my galaxy s4 is text message compatible. but still my 2009 Ford escape says that texting is not supported. should I talk to the Ford dealership for help or my phone provider.

I believe my 2011 was due for an update when we bought it, just over a year ago. I tried several times to do it. But I'm not much of a computer guy and just gave it up. Of course Ford will do it for $80-$90 plus an hour.

amandaj0 to send a private message take your mouse and put it over the person's screen name. Click your left button on the mouse, and scroll down to "Send a private message" and you'll be set. You DO have to be signed in, to be able to do this.
