Hey yall im actully writing this for a buddy of mine. He has a early 99 7.3 and his turbo took a crap over the weekend. So hes in the market and will be ordering one tomm. My questions for yall are below....
1. His is a early 99. Its got a small turbo in it. Nothing like the... ic boots etc are as big as mine in my 2000. So i was telling him a 38r but idk if it will fit. Will it fit?
2. He has a superchip intake and exhaust and thats it. Is the 38r the right thing for him? if not what should he be looking at getting?
3. What ever he ends up getting is there anything special he will have to get because its a early 99.

Go with the Beans D66. It's a direct bolt-in for the early 99 and supports over 400 rwhp. Unless you just WANT to upgrade to the later intake setup.....
I havent really studied on this too much but appericate all the input. So the "van Turbo" out of a ford van is a good way to go for the early 99? Can you buy them new or do you need to find one wrecked and repair it?
From what i hear i dont think he will be doing the 38r. Too much work for him and prolly too much money involved. Id like to hear more bout the van turbo and or other options that can just bolt on.

Why don't you call Clay if Riffraff? He'll take what you tell him as far as plans for the truck and tell you what would be the best thing you can do NOW in regards to what you wanna do with the truck later.
Thanks for all of the input on everything guys. I relayed all the info to my buddy and he went with a stock turbo. I guess he figured he got 400k out of the stk one so thats what he got as far as i know. Thanks again to all
