ok,
back together. started up rough, now running smooth, but hear a hiss from the fuel filter area. Also long crank still after a few starting cycles, but then fires with authority.
How long does it take to get all air out?
Should I take it for a spin?
am I concerned about nothing?
Thanks to all that gave advice.
I gave every one reps.
Went pretty well.
Truck idles, runs, & sounds so much better. You don't realize how bad something was until it is fixed.
The injector I pulled was replaced under warranty and was never installed correctly.
It had a broken plug that wouldn't properly plug in to the wiring harness.
After out of the truck and laying on the work bench, you could see how the pins in the plug were black from arcing because of the loose connection.
Have to pick up an o-ring for the plastic ccv elbow that fits in the valve cover. It was in 3 pieces when I removed it. Wrapped electric tape around it after I put in back in the valve cover. It is a band aid till I pick up an o-ring at a dealer.

I had the same thing broken o-ring on the ccv elbow/valve cover
good to hear all is good
someone now needs to explain the "blue spring" procedure to me.
It's super easy. I did mine while the housing was out of the truck but it would be just as easy to do it while it's in. It's simply a matter of pulling the little cover and replacing the spring and all of the little parts that come with the kit. Should take you about 10 mins. I think the kit was ~$50 on ebay. I don't know what my pressures were before (no gauges) but I installed gauges at the same time and now read around 65-68 all the time. I think the biggest problem you might run into is catching the leaking fuel, again I did mine while the whole assy was out of the truck so I have no idea how much fuel might leak but no matter what it won't be more than is in the bowl.
