When using remote start should my interior vents/AC/defrost be restored to settings when vehicle was last shut off with out putting key in ignition? Seems like the point of remote start is not only to get engine fluids flowing and warming but the interior of the vehicle also?
for heat it would be ok. The truck will be warm so you will have heat instantly when you get in and turn it on. I always try to turn the a/c on high during the summer so the truck will be cool when i get in . But then again it is an excusion so i run it pretty high anyway just to keep the whole truck cool as it gets pretty warm in Mississippi.

I turn mine onto auto position with the temp all the way up. Remember, the heat wont really produce heat until the engine warms up... May take 20 minutes or so depending on the outside temps...

On some vehicles, yes, but not all. Some of the newer vehicles will go into an alternate mode when starting with a remote start.
I have a 2011 F-250, 6.7L......
I've had it for about 30 days now and only once have I ever gotten in and had the vents/defrost working....Service dept says that the vents are not supposed to come on until I turn the key on....Every other vehicle I have had with remote start goes back to the last settings of either vent/defrost from when the vehicle was last shut off
