Last week my door locks started locking & unlocking by themselves. The next thing you know they will not work. If you try the switch the interior lights come on like when you open the door. They will go off.
The only way to lock the door automatic is to use the remote. I have a 98 E150 van that has been the best family vehicle.
I am trying to do a search for the EXACT same problem on my 98 Club Wagon Chateau and came across this post. I see it has no replies ..... the locks are going NUTS. I had to pull the fuse last night. I will continue searching this fabulous forum for prior experiences. Harold H.
There is a relay for the system either under the hood or under the dash, I don't remember where off hand. Also the DRIVERS side switch CONTROLS the whole system as well. If the relay or D/S switch is bad or going bad it will do this. The Interior lights come on because of the system. You have the remote entry package and it's part of the system. If the doors are closed and the doors unlock, or you hit the remote button the lights come on.
I read around this forum and noticed one comment about a bad ground causing wacko door lock operation. My Negative battery connector was a fuzzy white mound under the cover. I unconnected it, washed with backing soda, sanded it fresh and reconnected. Did same with the + side. Put the fuse back in and the wacko auto locking frenzy did not start back up. The door switch also locked and unlocked perfectly which hardly worked at all. MAN I hope that was it.
I noticed a electrical switching sound coming from the left wall panel behind drivers seat. I pried off the panel and found a 6"x6" black box about a inch thick. It thumped when the lock switch was activated. This may be the relay ?? It has two large multi wired connectors coming from the door. I could read TRW on it and it looked expensive.
Well for now all is calm and quiet and WORKS. Thank you all/forum very much.

My previous post is no longer valid .... door lock are going whacko AGAIN .... just pulled the fuse this morning to stop it. They kerchunked all the way in to work. &@%@&*@ !!!
And is the relay in the side panel ? or under the dash ? I do not hear the mechanical/electrical sound coming from under there .... I can feel it in the black box in the drivers side wall beside the left passenger captains chair. What a pisser. HH
The power lock/anti-theft control is behind the driver's seat (behind the "B" panel). I've finally replaced the module and it solved all of my problems! You also have to re-program the key fobs. At first I added a switch on the power to the bad module so I could have some control over the locks but it was much nicer to get it all right.
See this for a locator of the module: https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/C-06.PDF
You need (this part is a replacement): F2UZ-15K602-A for 1992-95? I called my local dealer and got the replacement part number and then ordered online for about $150.
