ok well i never used a bracket nor is there one installed at the moment. but the stc fitting is the t block looking thing right? because if so then they looked exactly the same when i replaced it. just wanna make sure its right before i drop the cab and have to go back into it

Even though my truck is an '06, it was produced mid 2005, and dealer purchased just a few months later making it an early release of the 2006 MY.
I can assure you there was no bracket when replacing the 2 piece HPOP fitting, as a matter of fact if I recall correctly the "bracket" was FoMoCo's answer to an already leaking STC fitting and never installed from the factory.

well the thread another head stud job just summed up my main question. he posted great pics by the way of the head stud job and little odds and ends. looks like i already had the new style stc fitting and just replaced it with the same one. i saw what the old ones used to look like and i didnt have that one. o well i know now for future reference
