Long Crank Time

I have a 2006 F350. I have long crank times. No Codes. I have Autoenginuity with Enhanced Codes and everything shows fine. I replaces standpipe and dummy plugs. Glow Plugs and harness. I was hoping it not be the STC but I needed to do oil cooler so wanted to eliminate STC. Got truck apart and the STC Fitting is newer style so I'm kinda bummed out. Not sure if I'm missing something and as far as I have it torn down is there anyway to test what could be causing the problem? Or just put it back together and keep my fingers crossed that whoever put the new STC fitting in screwed it up. I'm beginning to not like my truck. Any ideas or suggestions?

Driven it enough to get all the air purged out?
How long is your "long crank time"?

I replaced the standpipe and dummy plugs a month ago. And continued to have the long crank time that's why I suspected the long crank time had to be the STC Fitting. Now I have torn into the truck to replace the STC. I haven't put the truck back together yet. I know I should expect air purge after this time. I had hoped to see the older style STC fitting. My frustration is seeing the updated STC Fitting on the truck makes me feel like the problem has been something else all along. I guess a better question would be; what else could cause long crank times when FICM is good IPR is good injectors are good, Standpipe dummy plugs are good and STC is good? Also I have done blue spring upgrade.

Does the ICP pressure stay low during the extended crank?

Stay's low for few seconds and as soon as it jumps to 600 truck fires up. Crank time is about 6-8 secs.

Leaking injectors maybe. Did you air test it yet?

The Ford IPR is not cheap but it is easy to replace while turbo is out. How old is it? Is it a Ford or aftermarket? Do you know IPR% and ICP at warm idle?

There are a couple of things worth checking.

First verify that you have a ford/racor oil filter and oil filter cap.

Next verify that your batteries are fully charged so that the engine turns at rated RPM (you can try starting the truck with a charger attached). A less common issue is an AC compressor dragging which can make the engine turn over slower.

Try parking your truck nose down overnight and see if it starts quicker. If oil in the resivour drains down thru the HPOP overnight, this might cause your problem. Others might have better ideas about this check.

Last item is the starter. My '06 had slow starts (5 sec or so) just before the starter decided to throw in the towel.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to replace ipr since I'm here and get this thing back together. I have new batteries and starter so those are off the table. I'm working on cleaning up oil soaked harness also. I will follow up in a few days when I get the truck back together. I suspect if after this round and I get the air purged if it still has long crank time it has to be injector problem. Thanks again and say a prayer this works.
