One thing I've learned over the past month or so. Is that cheezit is always right! I couldn't belive he diagnosed that broken injector right down to the broken spoolvalve screws. My new rule is always do what he says!

Ive been at it a very long time..... Its how I make my money. Getting older means the hands are not as fast as they used to be. so keeping up with the shop kids gets harder and harder every year. My only saving grace is I know more then them. So i make up time on quick diag.

I've learned a TON from Cheezit that I thought I already knew. I didn't know about the spool valve thing even though I had one with a broken screw. It would even fire occassionally and drove the truck 200 miles home that way.

I read that thread, I thought that was pretty cool how he could just figure it out like that.

I agree, Cheezit's is teaching me things, everytime I get a reply from him, or he helps someone else out...

Since I bought my truck back in November with 198,000 miles, one owner.
I had to do, 2 egr coolers, 1 egr valve, head gaskets, a oil cooler, IPR valve, 3 injectors(one which I didnt have to do), and a turbo cleaning. I hope my list ends there. Lol.

Now the truck has a little over 201,500 and I sure hope im done with having problems with it...

Also when I get some free time I will update my standpipes and dummy plugs, I picked them up from my dealer when I got my ipr valve

Again, I knew NOTHING about the 6.0's until I joined FTE, and now I can say I know quite a few things about them, but im sure theres MUCH more to learn.

Again everone thanks for the help and support.

tim iirc you had the spool valve bolt in the center com apart. thaht will give you a little ddiffernt issue more along the lnes of single injector stiction at the most random times.
also the way the spool valve broke on the thread you are talking about is caused by low fuel pressure. most of the one I have seen are turcks driven with low fuel levels.
this goes back to in tank cavatation and airation.... I think....

Well I have to say that truck with the broken injector. Had a fully plugged up set of fuel filters right before its rough running started. That was when I sat down with the owner of my company and told him if he was serious about keeping his fleet of 8x6.0's running. He better have someone track all the maintaiance for them. 2 weeks later another f550 dropped 4 injectors and sat all winter. He then told me I was promoted to fleet manager....... I should have kept my mouth shut!
