an delete and keep the egr valve in place CEL from showing or just leave it plugged in and tie wrap it to something in the area of the block off plate? Getting ready to do it and just wondering options ahead of time.
Leave the EGR in place and plugged in. The CEL will still come on (P0401 I believe), but the EGR being plugged in will keep your fan operating correctly. You won't notice any drive ability issues with the CEL on.
I just did this the other day, and the CEL came on but I left it plugged in. Still drives great and haven't noticed any difference in fuel mileage. Search for a thread started by cheezit, he did some tests with the EGR plugged in vs. unplugged, and it effecting fan operation.
you can buy the sct tuner to turn cel off if it bothers you
^what he said, I just haven't done it yet cause if I go to the wife and say "honey, the truck also now needs XXXX and it's going to cost $XXX" she will will probably check herself into a mental hospital.
WEZOL- I am in the same boat. The wife took it better than I thought when I told her I needed the delete! An SCT on top of that....NO WAY! I also have a boat that is a money pit and that season is just around the corner. I have the EDGE Evo so if it bothers me I can erase it until it comes back again.

That's interesting, as long as I leave the EGR valve plugged in I get no CEL or codes. I think the general concensus is that your personal experience with this is dependent upon the year of your truck and the flash it has though.
