Slick ?

In looking through the comments and questions I keep seeing the word "slick". Could someone please tell me what that means. I thought it was a term for uni-bodies only. Not sure though.

Slick is the term use for the 61-66 trucks, named for the slick look to the side of the truck. The styleside bed is teh slickest.

Tis interesting to see how the term has grown and where it came from.

No, we think that uncalled for comments should be refrained from being thrown out for obvious reasons. Especially since most on here have children and would like for them to be able to read about things without having to double check if someone posted rediculous comments. Or the fact that we have respect for our fellow readers/posters.

On a side note, would you be willing to assist someone with an issue if they regularly posted what you did?

The term "Slick" as it pertains to 61 to 66 trucks was coined by Chuck Miller of York PA as slick effies and then shortened by "foodstick" to just slicks to name the then fledgling club "slick 60's"

The slang was picked up and published by Gary Pratt of classics truck who had become a club member. It cought on from there and is now accepted as general slang for the 61 to 66 F series trucks. John Gilbert of Custom Classics Trucks also became a club member and promoted the slang.

And that the truth in the shell.

Other notable truck slang:

Effie 54 to 56
Fridge 57 to 60
Bumpside 67 to72
Dentside 73 to 79
Goat Truck 80 to 96 (c)garbz.

Where does that leave the 53 in the equation? Is it just an orphan?

Are they they ones referred to as "fat fendered", so maybe a fat fender? Or are they Effies, really what's the difference between a '53 and a '54 (other than the flathead option)?
