Slicks in Hollywood
I was watching an old episode of the Walking Dead this week and noticed the truck on the farm was a style side slick. Also, noticed in True Detective that the bad guy drove a flare side slick. I love seeing Hollywood use these trucks as props. I can't help but think that some of our members provide the trucks. Has anyone out there done that? I'd love to hear the stories and how they found you.

I LOVED watching the Rockford Files. There is a 65 slick in the new sitcom Neighbourhood. I was also recently watching Taken 3 where a 1964 Flareside was in a scene that allowed the good guy to escape in a floor drain under where it was parked. The chasers then had to push it out of the way to discover the drain.
I am certain that there are many slick shots in old shows from the 60's and 70's. Fugitve probably had lots.
The new Canadian filmed show Rust Valley Restorers has had several slicks in the background. I hope you Americans get that show on History Channel.

There are companies that have fleets of vehicles that are provided to movie companies for a fee of course. I am talking about thousands of choices. If a movie company has a particular vehicle they want and the providing company does not have one they will go to the general public and rent what they need. Here there was a guy who had an old pickup from the 40's I think and it was beautiful. The movie company wanted to use it and he leased it to them and they weathered it. When you saw it in the movie you could not tell that it was the same pickup. When shooting was over they gave him the choice to get it back weathered or as they leased it. They removed the makeup and you would never know it looked like a piece of crap the day before.
