Some folks say the truck didnt shift like that when they first got it. Others say that it did. but it seems that it didnt start in early 2010. Did this show up before the 400/800 update? Are the trucks that didnt exhibit this behavior when new , job 1 trucks and the trucks thad did it since new job 2 trucks.
I heard over at Diesel-Stop that the new TSB/Flash was out as of Wednesday. Anyone else confirm this? I called my dealer and they were not aware of one. Gave him my VIN and he was clueless (idiot). "Gotta bring the truck in to figure it out..."
Yes my dealer did received the newest tsb on wed and have already reprogramed a few trucks. I have mine scheduled for Monday hopefully this is the last fix. I also heard that this tsb is for trucks built before nov 2010 but I don't know that for sure.
Make sure they didn't install TSB 10-23-9.
The "for trucks built prior to Nov 2010" statement sure sounds familar to the TSB 10-23-9 I had installed in December 2010.
Paul should be around soon enough hopefully with a good update.
Now that I mentioned his name, his ears will begin to burn.
Do you know the number? Should be on your receipt or Ford Owner site...
No I dont have the tsb number. I looked at the ford owner site and did a vechicle health report via sync and it doesnt list anything either. I guess have to wait till monday to find out what the number is.
Thanks for your patience, I know it was a couple days later than expected, but the TSB for the transmission shift issues has been released. For referrence, the TSB# 11-04-21.
Note that there are several other software updates included in this TSB. I'll post some of the detail in a separate thread.

Thanks Paul... Will look for the detail thread - By the way - is this for the the 6.2 also or just the 6.7 trucks?
I have also had this problem today intact truck was sitting for about 10 hours when I was at work go in get out of the parking lot hit the gas first to second no prob it's second to third is when it seemed to go into neutral let off gas then it fell in 3rd had no more problems on my 30 min ride home...this is not the first time it's happend, I will have to say it's when the truck has been sitting for more then two hours when the truck is cool.

How do you find out what flash I have???
Yep, always after a drive then a few hour cold soak.
You have to take it to your dealer to find out what flash using IDS.
If your gear display stays on each time you shift to [D], you know you at least have the 400/800.
For the last 3-4 weeks, 8 out of 10 trips I use manual mode especially after a cold soak.
You'll find manual mode still has the issue but occurs less often.
