Have an 03 F250 with 6.0, approx 110K miles and always maintained by dealer. Lately I have noticed a slight miss or hesitation when going up a slight grade in high gear. This only occurs before the truck warms up completely and I can mash the gas until it down shifts and it will accelerate smoothly with no hesitation. Could this be an indication of weakening injectors, fuel pump, or ???. Any ideas on what to look for would be appreciated. Bill
No codes, no mods, zero repairs, maint by the book by dealer since new. The only thing I have ever done myself was to add a Lucas fuel treatment every other fillup, and add cetane boost & anti gel in the winter.
Thanks, Bill
I would invest in a good set of gauges or an AutoEnginuity. Without more information, it is impossble to pinpoint your issue IMO.
There are cheap things to try - like pulling and cleaning the EGR valve (maybe even consider replacing it), cleaning the MAP sensor hose and EBP tube, cleaning the turbo, inspecting the ICP connector for oil soaked condition, check FICM voltage, check battery health (with a real load tester, not just a hand-held unit). You might get lucky and it is one of these possibilities.
