To show you how stupid the laws are, a friend of mine registered his grease gun, his soldering gun, and his hot glue gun, and the idiots accepted the registrations. Don't know if he's allowed to transport them or not, probably not, they probably consider them a restricted weapon since they're not long guns.

Red face

Well 3 weeks after my truck was ripped of and things are looking a little better.Inspection was done yesterday, things looked very good ,no damage to the undercarriage, rear end area, transfer case, front diff steering etc. Although we did find a small amount of engine oil between the block and tranny things were better than expected. Mechanic feels very good in saying all looks OK. After I washed it, it went to the body shop and here again it looks pretty good, aside for the door damage and two dings in my cowl hood and a minor bumper rub which we can pull back easy enough. My interior took the hardest hit, smells terrible and has a slash in the arm rest, council top needs to be replaced and the instrument cluster lens is scratch badly. So an extreme interior detailing will be needed. Probably just under $3000.00 in visible damage. According to my engine hour meter they had they truck for about 5 to 6 hrs. Leaning towards that it was just used to move 4 other thieves to various locations rather than doing the smash a grab tour. Any way should have it back in about 2 weeks if no issues with insurance. See what happens.

Sounds good and hopefully there will not be any issues down the road. Glad to hear there was very little damage. To bad they did not catch the thieves. These thieves need to have their fingers cut off one joint at a time. And I will volunteer to be the executioner.

Glad to hear you got it back and the damage is not to severe.

On the warranty issue I had a 97350 stolen from the plow dealer while negotiating the purchase. The truck was still new (demo dealer plow 1500km) the damages where similar to yours (door lock, column, minor body etc), the full warranty was not effected at all.

Well here we go week # 6 and I still do not have my truck back at my home. Damage estimate alone has gone over $4000.00. Now I am seeing the true vision of my insurance company, thinks this was a given right from day one but you have to remain optimistic right, slightly. Give me all I requested off the line too make sure I would retake possession of the truck. Bate and switch ? My ball park estimation is they have at this point about $6000.00 invested. I was hurried (by my adjuster)to get my missing truck items claim as well as the items going on the house claim into them. My plan was to assess the truck once I got it back then send in the claims. Did the best I could to get all my receipts together, double and triple check. Don't want to shaft anybody, rrright. Now it seems that ,well we won't cover this ,we can't very well cover that and some of your tuck claim will be moved to your house claim. By the way we will take your $500.00 deductible and cover $85.00 of your $985.00 claim (process of elimination) or because your wife works for the insurance company you can wave one time only, this $500.00 deductible. Knew right from day one that it was just time before we would end up on the receiving end of there ways. But we are not done yet by any stretch. Only getting started.Never signed anything saying I would take it back so this could very well be up for discussion me thinks...

As far as I am concerned the insurance companies rate right up there with the thieves that stole the truck to begin with. They are now stealing from you just in a different way.

Haven't just yet put me through hell but I am getting pretty cranky. I submitted a fair claim on both and I will still take a hit. No neon not even a mention of a rental but that likely would then push me to the edge of ?. Pulled my 94 F150 out of storage a little earlier than I like but it needs to be run I have only put about 1200kms on it in the last 7years,it still percolates,Chevy owners weep ha-ha. One item I was claiming for was a garage door opener. My remote was stolen and not found. Well I submitted for a new system based on the fact my opener is over 15 years old and obsolete, my remote is somewhere else and what the adjuster had said to do in this case.Well we will only pay for the replacement remote or a universal. I says that does little to comfort me as the thieves have or may have my programmable remote control, know where I live and after we go to bed could or maybe get into my garage.I would have to manually reprogram the system daily to get piece of mind,no not going to happen.Or dead bolt the door, again not going to happen. As things are now I unplug my opener and lock the garage up tight. Why should I have to unplug it every time I am away or for that matter in the house, kind of defeats the purpose of having the system does it not. We only will cover the cost of replacing the remote control and you can reprogram it to new numbers. Says I, if and when I get broke into and they get my tools, parts to my project mustang, maybe my 94 and whatever else they can grab will your company cover loses. I will send you an email listing our payable's on both claims later today, that was last Friday 15th, nothing back today. As always there is more to this but I think you can get the jist of where I was going.

What you said here means so much.
It makes a huge difference in a community where people actually care about their neighbors and are willing to stand up for what is right, even when it's inconvenient.

And now for some ridiculous:

Shame, shame! You're not being a good World Citizen. You can't possibly believe that a sovereign nation should maintain it's borders and protect it's citizens from those who violate the sanctity of said nation. That's just silly.

You're just being narrow minded. You see, you have to consider this poor individual's plight as a victim... of society.... and as a member of society, you owe him/her. Now, don't you feel better, more enlightened?
