Freak n thieves
Jeff, what color is it, what year, any distinguishing features? You never know, it could end up down here, and I look over pretty much every Super Duty I pass.
Don't even get me started on thieves, I place them only slightly above pedifiles and lawyers.

Well into day three in this adventure. Nothing on my truck but it sure sounds like it's been on a journey. Adjuster has called, have to wait 30days to see if it will be recovered. Now we have find all the receipts for my tools,cb radio,Sirius receiver, and the list goes on. Not only is that part going to be time consuming any other issue that could crop up like photo radar tickets, red light camera tickets which will have to be dealt with by me in person in court, another waste of my time.John it is possible that it could end up out that way it had a full to the cap tank of fuel,it would be kind of weird if it did as I bought it from Harwood Ford in Brooks. It had a portion of the Harwood ford decal on the slider.I have a couple of pictures but need to figure out how to post them here try later.Loaded Lariat (W31 model ?)with the chrome package Red in color, grey interior with with silver headache rack, black vent visors on all the windows and sun roof, Cowl induction hood, tube grill.2008 18" rims wrangler tires I really don't think it will be recovered the mileage was 67000kms(41,500miles)if they had a we bit more brain power would have realized that parting it out could be more lucrative than than a bunch of candie a** B&E's. Gee z as I am writing this listening to our local radio station another F350 and a dodge swiped early AM tried to do a smash and grab, failed and sounds like the cops are on them. Any way thanks to all for joining in on the thread, got some good security ideas for the next truck ?
Good luck with the insurance co. they don't use book values they use fair market value. they try to find similar vehicals and use them to come u with a price mine was an 03 with 77K and they orig. offered 20k and I ended up with 22k KBB said it was worth 25K. And all of the stuff inside I had to claim against my homeowners ins. I hope you have better luck than I did. I was b**t over and did not even get a ____ _____.
I hear you on the fair value thing. I am using KBB as reference as the Canadian book seems to be a little off. We will see how this plays out. We might be a little better off than most as my wife works for our insurance company and they are one of, if not the largest in western Canada. A few eyes are watching to see how this ends up already.
Just wondering but if you take your truck back from a theft scenario, How will the theft determine future of any warranty issues that may arise. To me the door is open to refuse any warranty based on one word...Abused...Quick update from my last post, RCMP apparently got the latest two losers so we will see what comes from this latest event.
A friend got his back after they found it gutted and ditched north of the Mexican boarder insurance put all new seats and carpet in and went through it pretty good. I think he got new tires to and a few other things he has not had any problems with it since (knock on wood). But I do not know how the warranty thing would go.
If you don't have anything on it and are going to have to leave it somewhere while on vacation, you could pull the fuses to the fuel pump.
On my 78, I have a kill switch to my elec. fuel pump that is hidden and I cut it off when I leave it. The fuel in the carb will get them about 1/2 mile and it'll die.
I really hope you get some justice Jeff, this is bull****. People work their asses off to acquire these kinds of things, only to be taken by some lowlife thug....and you can't even shoot the *******?
America welcomes you....Texas welcomes you....come on down.
I have emailed Ford Canada about their warranty policy after theft recovery,I will post it once I receive it. Asked about our standard as well as the paid for extended program. See what happens.
Well I received a reply back from Ford Canada and the reply is really not worth putting up here,so I sent another email with a slightly different wording and will see what happens this time. All the hoops to go through just to get a simple answer to a simple question. Anyway have learned a few more things here. One being that if you are in a business that requires hand tools, power tools or just plain anything to do your job or any extras you put into your truck, make separate photocopies of all your receipts. Original for the year end tax man and one for just in case you are a victim of theft. The photocopy to a separate folder marked tools and extras. It will make an already miserable situation a little less frustrating. Secondly yes I should have had some other sort of security system installed, I relied to heavily on the small town everybody watches out for everybody way off life. Also in owning two 6.0's in the last 7 years and not having one issue with where they were parked most likely let my guard down more than I should have. On the next truck I am looking into an air shut down system. As the next truck will make it's way into the the oil & gas industry up here, the ESD system for diesel trucks is now becoming a requirement for all diesel trucks on location. Anyway day 10 and no sign of my truck anywhere, wait and see what happens.
Jerry, How much were you quoted to put a Ravelco in the truck?
Sorry to hear about the truck. I can relate. Had my 2006 F250 gasser stolen from in front of church last year. The local cop found it south of San Antonio in Poteet about 10 days later. They think it was used for a border run. They did some off-roading and had scratched all the panels, even over the cab, running through barbed wire. Farmer's Insurance totaled it and paid what it would cost to buy one based on the advertisements for similar trucks in the Houston area. All the scratches made it too costly to repair. I was able to find a 2006 F250 PSD truck for less than what they gave me. I was ticked to have the truck stolen, and my stuff in it, but Farmers sure treated me fairly. I hope you have the same success with your insurance.
