Pat,
Stay away from the things that glow in the dark by themselves!
They may keep you warm, but they have sneaky side-effects!

It was a good show. Roy is 77, and the years are showing. He had back surgery some years ago, and more recently has had both hips replaced. So no dancing around, and he sat on a stool for most of the show. But his fingers are as fast as ever and he can still lay down those tunes. I am happy to have been able to see him before it is too late.
But the big surprise was the introduction given by General Chuck Yeager. He and Roy have been friends, and because Roy flies and has owned a few planes, they share a common interest. Yeager has taken Roy flying in a classic P-38 Mustang. He told a few WWII stories, and a few Roy stories. At 88 he still has that swager, and I got a little choked up when he walked out on stage.
If you ask me, Yeager's autobiography should be required high school reading. Would teach the little basturds a thing or two about being an American.

What a nice surprise to have Yeager show up and speak.
Read that book, and loved it. Especially the telling of his escape to Spain after being shot down over France. Could have cashed in right there, but got right back into it and flew 50 some-odd more missions.

It was a surprise. However, my daughter and her BF went to an Oakridge Boys concert late last year, and Chuck Yeager introduced them. She didn't really know anything about Yeager, but BF did and enjoys history, so he and I were talking about his life. So I guess it is something he has been doing lately for country music concerts. Well, I only know of those two, so I can't say if it is frequent. My guess is that he gets a free seat to anything he wants to see.

Good morining So Cal. I'm visiting Illinois this weekend (grand kids). Nice to see a little snow, rusty, salty cars and carhartt jackets.
