There is someone on here or atleast used to be on here that had one in a maverick that ran a quarter mile in under 10 seconds. Your best bet would be the 300 forum on here.
The same things that apply to a V8 apply to the inline 6. 4V intake and carb, headers, camshaft, roller rockers, bump up the compression, do some head work.
i agree! boost the hell outta that motor! it can handle it, those motors and like a tank. plus you have the room and get most of what you need from a junk yard.
Yeah there was a member here who did it. I was honestly damn impressed with the whole setup and the numbers he was getting. He did it for dang cheap. If I didn't have a 460 I would do just what he did.

Yea after you install ARP head studs, a good head gasket and some ARP rod bolts. I've seen many stock 300's with blown head gaskets.
And I personally think a Eaton M112 supercharger would be a better match to the 300. No lag just instant torque from the hit of the throttle. But it would require more fab work.
Horsepower costs money... how fast ya wanna go? As mentioned above: 4bbl carb and intake, mild cam, upgraded ignition, headers, a free flowing exhaust system, better gearing, a manual trans (if you don't already have one)... for around a $1000 you can double the factory horsepower and more than double the torque output of these engines. Not to mention they're bulletproof and can put up with tons of abuse.
im jst trying to speed it up you knw? jst accelerate faster lke be able to burnout and stuff like tht maybe a supercharger would work. my dad supercharged his 07 ram 4x4 and it became a pretty fast *** truck haha but im jst looking to upgrade the inline 6
My son asked me the same for his 2000 V6 Mustang. I swapped out the 7.5" open rearend with 3.25 gears for an 8.8" limited slip with 3.73 gears. It made a big difference in acceleration without touching the engine.
