I had a mechanic in Bay City Texas repair my fuel/water drain. I asked him to see if he could see what was leaking oil into the valley.
He stated that the leak was from the IPR. Taking him at his word, I got the seals from my Cat Dealer( after I got back to Ky.) and am ready to go.
But I felt around and watched the IPR while running, and I cannot find a drop of oil anywhere on the IPR. I decided to wait until I am sure of what is leaking.
Am I wrong in thinking that if it is leaking, that there should be some residue on the IPR itself? The puddle is in the front of the valley. Can't reach the Hpop plug on the bottom. Thanks Jim
No you are not wrong Jim. If the IPR were leaking it would be wet. Clean up the oil in the valley and try to find the real leak. Feel the bottom of the HPOP. If it is wet then it is most likely the "non-seviceable plug" leaking. The so called "non-serviceable plug" can be serviced. LINK
