Any guesses as to what factory mounts on 460 perches would do with the engine relative to engine height and movement forwards or backwards compared to the swap mounts with 351W perches?

Hell if it was me I'd just build my own using some Urethane leaf spring bushings.

I just had my own run in with JBG myself, not too thrilled with them. They'll be lucky if I consider them again.

I ordered a set of gears 2/27 from them, immediately got notification and confirmation of my payment being received with promises of shipping info soon to come. No third email with a tracking number...bummer, but it IS Sunday so still, sweet. Sunday pours over into Monday and I've found cheap gears (that JBG carries but does not stock my desired size) on fleabay thru Rons machining. Double cool. Still no email from JBG (maybe the office staff hasn't sent the email despite being shipped?). On Wednesday, Ron's gears are on my porch from the guy in the big brown truck...despite being in the neighboring state, JBG sends nothing my way (ok, MAYBE their system is fubar for the moment). So over the next few days after careful investigation of funds and bargain hunting I go a little apes*#t buying parts, receiving them every other day for 6-8 days...hey, that's right, STILL no r&p and still no email, wtf? So after a very cordial and polite email basically stating I'd like a tracking number (if shipped) or the order cancelled (if not), 2-3 more days go by and I finally get a short, almost snide email that reads (verbatim) "I will cancel the order and refund the card. Thanks." ....SERIOUSLY?! Almost two weeks later you've made no attempt to ship the item or even contact me as to it's whereabouts? I think in these trying times when people DO have the money to spend on something that is non-essential and is not unique in price or quality, MAYBE you'd go out of your way to take care of them, even if it's something as basic as an email.

Anyway, found USA standard gears identical to what I ordered from JBG on Rons eBay store. $4 more, but if he's consistent I'll have them by Monday.

I dropped the ball on getting the defective mounts shipped back to L&L. In any event, after getting them shipped out the week before last I received a letter from L&L today notice that my card was refunded the $125 I paid them for the mounts on 2/18. I shipped the mounts 3/18 and the refund was processed 3/23. I checked my account online and it was in fact issued in the full $125. Turnaround time was pretty good considering a couple days in transit. Total cost to me was $29.91 for shipping. It would have been nice to not pay to ship broken mounts back, but it's not the end of the world.

I'd like to say thanks to L&L for stepping up and honoring their lifetime warranty. I will consider using their parts on upcoming swaps I've got on the table for 80-97 trucks. I will avoid the mounts on anything more than mild engines but I will say I'm happy with other L&L products I've used such as their oil filter relocation kits.

Update on Mount Policy

Hello,

While this thread is old, I would like to reply to the issues our customers in this Thread have had with our mounts. In this day and age of the Internet, we want to be able to reach our customers through the forums and address any concerns and to set the record straight. That being said:

Since 1979 our goal is to provide our customers with high-quality products, which we make ourselves in our factory and to make sure our customers are satisfied and feel treated fairly. I apologize that this was not the case for some of the customers reading this. We have new management who handles the returns properly and who have been properly trained to correct any mistakes being made by the warranty department. We stand by our products, but there can always be human and mechanical errors that can cause a defect every now and then. If there are any issues with our Motor mounts please let us know, and we will send you a new set if they break IF you are the original purchaser. Mounts purchased second-hand cannot be replaced for free, but we can work something out with you. If any one on this thread or forum does not feel fairly treated in the past, let us know so we can try and make it right.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex, does this mean you're going to reimburse me for the $29.91 I spent shipping broken mounts around the country? If so that would be awesome, but either way I'm glad you guys are making efforts to stand behind your products and take better care of warranty cases. I just looked through your catalog and I will still use your products for future projects, though maybe not motor mounts in high torque applications. I suppose one could always modify them with a larger through bolt with much larger washer or plate on each side.

While we're naming companies...

Remflex is awesome. I have not had to make any warranty claims on their products since 2011, but I have bought several gaskets for my projects and am very happy with the results. They remain my top choice for exhaust gaskets, particularly any hard to seal application.

Clauss Studios is awesome. They make reproduction molded rubber parts for vintage motorcycles. I have bought several things from them and been pleased with the quality. They did make a mistake once and shipped the wrong part, but rush shipped me the correct part and said to keep the incorrect part. I will absolutely buy from them in the future.

Bronco Graveyard is awesome, they offer a great selection of products and will take care of their customers when something goes wrong. I once had an issue where I did not receive a steering column rebuild kit I ordered from them. They quickly resolved the issue. They provided a tracking number which said it was delivered, I don't know where but it wasn't to me. They made sure I got my steering column rebuild kit quickly and could finish my project. I continue to buy from Bronco Graveyard, they know how to take care of customers.

Bilstein is a good company. They seem to make a quality product and offer a support number to call which they answered quickly and their friendly staff helped me with some questions.

Tenneco, owner of Monroe and Rancho, is a terrible company that does not stand behind their products. They have quality control issues and do not stand behind their product, their warranty is worthless. As much as it pains me to refer you to the site run by crooked thugs and thieves, have a look at my post over at Oilburners which outlines how Tenneco gave me the runaround, declined to stand behind their product and honor their warranty, refused to honor the full amount defined in their own policy after they ran the clock toward zero and forced me to make a claim under their satisfaction guarantee. Broken shock mount, anyone have this happen? | Diesel Truck Forum - Oilburners.net

The Fully Driven Automotive Network and OilBurners.net are terrible companies who steal intellectual property. Calvin Yang (towcat), banned me for a period of time when he didn't like a suggestion I offered a fellow member (use license plates with paid up road tax to drive a new to you vehicle home, as long as you purchase liability insurance, until you can register in your state of residence). I questioned him privately after that, assuming there was a mistake or misunderstanding which Calvin responded with another temporary ban. At that point, assuming I was not welcome I began archiving and removing technical content that I posted to Oilburners. I was content to leave, but I don't want those who do not welcome me to generate income from me. Calvin responded by permanently banning me before I was able to remove all of my intellectual property.
Since then I made several appeals to Calvin and others in management and ownership to either unban and welcome me back to the site that I contributed much content to in which case I would gladly replace all the content I deleted and continue to contribute, or to keep the ban but delete all of my content as it is my intellectual property. They responded by changing the terms of service agreement to state all content posted to the site was their property. I again requested all content I had posted be removed, given it was all posted under an agreement in which they had no rights to my intellectual property, rather than their new terms of use. They declined to remove my intellectual property, then proceeded to download all pictures from my own hosted storage and host them on their own server. The Fully Driven Automotive Network and OilBurners.net are thieves, monetizing stolen intellectual property and refusing to remove content and images they have no right to use.

Agreed 1000% about oilbuners
