I've seen the ghetto chrome mirror covers, but saw a brand new Lariat today and they had color-matched out of the factory.
It would be a pretty sweet look if I got color matched half-covers for my 2005 model. There's a line on the mirror about half-way down that would be a good place for the cover to stop.
Anyway, just wondering if such a thing is even manufactured, or if I would have to find a half-chrome one and then modify it.
The part #s for the half covers from my '08 service manual are; 17D742 RH/ 17D743 LH Exterior mirror cover (optional - painted or chrome)
You may be able to remove the covers that you have and get them painted.
For a really custom look, you could have them Line-X'ed and color matched to your truck. I know my mirrors take a beating at times...hunting trips, narrow drive thrus, rock chips, and the Line-X would hold up to all of that. Would probably look pretty sweet also.

That would look pretty sweet. Can you get line x in any color?
I'm going to look into this, as my mirrors take a beating when I go hunting. I've only had my truck for 7 months and they are already scratched all to hell.
