Mirror caps/backs

Does anyone know where I could purchase the back covers for the outside mirrors. Right now they have the chrome covers, but I would like to switch them out to match the color of my truck.

Thanks

Sounds like a dealer part or perhaps a junk yard.

Yup, they're a dealer part. They're also paint to match, so when my mirror got broke off I got the chrome ones for the 2wd's. I think they look good either way, but to each his own.

EDIT - It also kind of depends on the color of the truck. Mine's white.......and what doesn't look good with white?

You know, that was last summer and I honestly don't remember. I'm sure you could call them and find out.

I would want to have them painted though. Does anyone know where there is a place to buy ones that are already color matched.

Discountfordpart that is a good deal, I called the dealer yesterday and they wanted $49.99 each. I will keep you in mind if I can't find the painted ones.

you dont have to remove the chrome, just rough it up with fine sandpaper so the paint can stick to it... go to a local automotive paint supply shop. they could probably walk you through doing it yourself..and they can mix the paint and they have disposable sprayers. or the local auto supply can order color by paint code in a 4 oz spray

So, you would have the regular backs painted to match mine?

Well before I go ahead and buy those, could you let me know a ballpark or exact about that the painting would be.

Thanks alot for your help so far.

EDIT: Also the parts number you gave me are for a 1997-1999. Would it make a difference that mine is a 2001?
