Oh yes, the previous owner bolted a 1/4" thick steel plate over the full length of the floor, and it is riding on the hard to find 9.5x16.5 tires. Should be very good in deep snow
yeah with that weight in the back it should do ok in snow-- I always liked the 460 :-)
My side project, 1982 E350. 460, C6 automatic Dana 60 limited slip rear with 4.10 gears. Bought it in St George back in March, just got it driveable this month
That is cool!!!! Would make a great camping/tow rig.

Oh yes! I am buying a tow chain so I can make a few bucks getting folks un stuck in the winter, in the rear of the van I'm building a workbench out of old pallets so I can have a place to do work on it. Have a computer chair mounted up in the front, so I can just go outside and sit in it and relax if I want

Me too!!! Nothing like a big block to get the job done! It made a test run today, drove it a few miles and it ran strong with no issues, other than having to tweak the idle speed when I got home and a hubcap falling off somewhere while I was driving
Been "cleaning out the basement"-- throwing away 2 Sub Speakers -- an antique radio- the couch- a table and lazy boy recliner- 100 cd cases (without CD's) and some misc stuff from storage room--- had it all in the yard last night-- then find out they will only take 5 things in bulky pickup--- Soo made some "bundles" ratchet some stuff together and wrapped it in duct tape-- so now I am only throwing away 2 speakers-- a couch (with allot of duct tape around it) a lazy boy recliner(with allot of duct tape around it) and a table/radio contraption with duct tape and a couple wood screws --- 5 bundles but still getting rid of the same amount of stuff :-) :-)--- my back hurts this morning
Feels amazing, doesn't it? We do the same thing every spring and purge every corner of the house. What we dig up either goes to the garage sale pile or the trash, then after the garage sale the rest goes to Goodwill.
Somehow we always end up with a whole garage sale's worth to get rid of every spring, how does that even work?
We were pretty busy last week during one of our rare weekend stays home. Bought the boys a nice adjustable basketball goal and dug the hole for the pole. Took 28 bags of quik-rete to fill it back in (36" deep, 20x20" square) so I'm starting to think that it may have been just as affordable to bring in a cement truck . Oh well, lesson learned. Concrete is cured, but we've been busy with cub scout meeting, mid-week classes, selling cub scout popcorn, and dove hunting all week that we haven't even had a chance to set the pole up. Plan is to start on that tonight after we get back from hunting.
We also spent most of the last weekend doing a lawn renovation. Bought a cool dethatcher\scarifier (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sun-Joe-A...ifier/52875412) to bring up all the dead grass clippings that were under the grass before we overseeded. Hauled off over a dozen 30-gallon lawn bags of clippings out of our 10k square foot lawn with the dethatcher attachment. Then we moved to the scarifier that was supposed to score the dirt for the seed to take root to, but it ended up bringing up MORE grass clippings to pick up. Dropped about 80 lbs of seed that we picked up from The Grass Pad in KC, plus some new lawn fertilizer. It's supposed to be drought-resistant fescue with a small percentage of perennial rye to self-heal in areas that get worn down, sure hope it works out!
Oh, and on top of that we planted a really tall crimson maple behind the basketball goal to hopefully provide some shade for future games of one-on-one. It's the biggest tree we've ever planted and was a heavy sucker to get set in and straight, but we got it finished just in time.
Needless to say, Monday morning had more aches than I've seen in quite a while
I rewired my car trailer, pulled all new wires, installed new LED marker lights, (back ones were already LED) and did some other maintenance on the trailer. It should be ready for my trip to Disney OK next weekend.
Went to a friend's place in Valley Center yesterday to pick up a set of 4 16" wheels & tires to replace the badly weather cracked and hard to find 16.5's my '82 E350 has now. This morning took my van up north of Abilene 3 miles on K 15 to see how it would pull the hills. It ran and drove great. Didn't go any farther due to the condition of the 16.5's and not having a working gas gauge yet
Ugh so someone in Calistas class has lice-- and its her good friend-- Did a kid head inspection - Yeah! doesn't have it--- but wifey is a bit "insane" when it comes to lice-- SO yeah I get a preventative treatment-- SO does Calista- all our clothes need to be taken and washed-- carpets steam cleaned-- bedding washed -- and all stuffed animals in a plastic bag for a week-even poor little kitty gets a treatment-- - Holy crap its allot of work. Can't I just wear a flea collar and be done with it?
They make a mint spray that you can spray in your hair, and on your clothes that lice don't like, then they stay away and just die on their own. Its a lot easier.

Huh? My wifey would still was everything down-- then everything would smell like mints on the plus side
