Yep, its my fishing/racing/smoking/spending weekends at the bar/having nice things replacement, but its worth it. It's less in repairs than a few months of new car payments.
This weekend, I dropped the transmission again, removed the spacers for the pivot and reinstalled the transmission, I got all but the rear drive shaft installed, and a skid plate, then the bottom is done, then its just hook up the battery and install the front inner fender wells. Then its time to test. (oh and tighten the bolts for the transmission mount.) I had to write myself a sticky note on that one.
Well since I have been off the site we redid the basement- the basement bathroom- new siding- windows- and moved the screen door 4 1.2 fee to the left.-- today I am installing a new grage door opener- and hardware- installing wheel spacers on the front of the exploder and fixing a shock mount.-- going to be a busy day!
with all of the rain, the grass in my yard is as pretty as I ever remember it being, but its also growing faster than I can keep it mowed.
I wish I had one of those Rumba type mowers to mow my yard daily and just trim the day's growth from it to keep up. I know it sounds lazy, but its more of a scheduling issue than a laziness.
Mason is 9 and tried to mow, but our grass is way too established and thick so he kinda struggles pushing it. We even have it on the highest setting but it is still a workout to get through.
Our lawn renovation side-project has turned out pretty spectacular over the past couple years. We have done de-thatching, aeration, and overseeding last year with particular attention to all the lawn treatments like fertilizers, various pre-emergents, grub\insect control, etc. My neighbor says the lawn looks like a "high-top" haircut where we have the edges cut so crisp along the sidewalk
Just last week we upgraded to a Rachio smart irrigation system that's supposed to use less water by monitoring the weather and only watering when necessary. Took into consideration our grass and soil types, sun\shade exposure, pitch, etc. I like being able to control the stations remotely from my phone instead of running back to the control box in the garage whenever I'm tuning the sprinkler heads at various stations. It's really comes in handy when our Ring in the driveway notifies us that the neighbors are playing in our yard, then I can pop that station on for quick second to chase them off
From the reviews it does sound like it should save us money though since it helps teach you to water deeper at less frequency. That would be nice, since our water bill typically goes up $100+ during the summer months
Finally got my 1982 E350 project on the road, I still have a pesky charging system issue to solve. Just put on a 1 year old set of 4 P225/75R16 tires, replacing the 9.50 x 16.5's, that were date coded 2011. Still some minor things to do, but at lease I can drive it after a year of working on it
