Just curious about the life expectancy of the front leaf springs in my '94 F250 4x4. The truck has 220,000 miles on what I am sure are the stock leafs. It looks like they are sagging as my front end sits low. Upon further investigation, it looks as if they have an add a leaf in there. There are 3 leafs in the bundle.
So now the how do I fix it part. New stock springs? (they are not cheap- LMC) with the add a leaf too? Is there a leveling kit for my year truck?
its probally time, i dont know if you have any spring shops by you. i would try that way 1st, even bring your vin to your local ford dealer and see if they are still available
Some of the leaf springs came out of the factory with a reverse arch so a sag look could be normal. Have a TRUCK frame place take a look.
Many places sell springs some at very good prices. Check some of the off-road shops.
The LAST place I would shop fpr a truck part is LMC unless you want to pay top dollar for it.
Springs were once sold by JC Whitney. In 2003 I bought a HD set for the rear of my 73 Dart hotrod from them. They were made in the USA and shipped directly from the maker. UPS std was less thn 75$ for the 80 or so pounds of spring.
Your F250 is common as dirt and commodity springs should be available.
I agree with oleman. The front leaf springs on these trucks were pretty flat or had a reverse arch to them. Also it did sit lower in the front from the factory.
Not to sure if its possible or of the price this is just an idea. U could call a lift kit componey and buy replacement leafs like a 2 inch lift would probly make it sit leavel but u may run into shock lenth problem and an alinment issue. Like I said just an Idea but like in the other posts spring shops a farley commen and they could make u a new set with xtra leafs or have them rearched as well. Most semi relair shops have local ppl they use for springs as its hard to keep one spring for all makes and it would be a lot of down time for shipping to get new ones
