For those considering Lokar shift linkage, I installed it on my C-4 today. I thought it was worth the $40 or so I spent. The adjustable ends make it easy to get everything working without binding. It has adjustment provisions so my column shift indicator lines up properly all the way through the sweep from 1st to Park. You can utilize your stock Ford kickdown. The Lokar arm goes where the neutral safety switch used to go so I have to put that back on the column. Other than that, no disappointment and finished in about an hour.
FENDERS: Good to hear about shifter adj. I'm going to use Floor shift model on AOD hopefully. With all the mod's we make good to hear somthing goes easy.

Do you think a lokar would work on a GM column and an FMX trans in a 54 f-100? The lokar I have seen has a straight rod connecting the column to the trans, but I dont think theres clearance for a straight rod.
I believe they make an FMX kit too. I am also running a GM style column (Flaming River) There is no way they could possibly know where your column and trans are mounted in relation to each other. All the kits come with a straight linkage rod. It is stainless steel which is soft enough to bend. I cut it to length leaving it a bit long, then added one small bend and did the final trim. They come with turnbuckle ends (wrong word I'm sure). Kind of like a tie rod end but more range of swivel with zero bind.
You can also fab this if you have a GM and a Ford linkage. I am just tiring of all the fabbing and would like to drive my truck. I will save the fabbing for the high dollar stuff I'm too cheap to buy.
You could easily make it well enough to work. Having the shift indicator line up properly all the way through the sweep is another story. That has to be done by moving the linkage hole closer or farther from the tranny shift shaft center. It is cake with the Lokar kit.
