FUEL PRICES

What the H*** is going on with diesel prices??? Gas went down $.10/g and last nite diesel went up $.10, to $3.55. I have had about enough of those cheatin B*****D'S, I think it's high time that everybody stands up and says we have had enough. Those dirty SOB's on Wall Street that are driving the price of crude up, need to be taken out in the woods and beat the crap out of them. The general public, doesn't realize how much the price of deisel affects their everyday life in the purchase's they make. All of the diesel community need to stick together and come up with an affordable alternative and tell the oil companies to take a flying leap. Well, thats enough, just had to vent, hate getting po'd first thing in the morning, but this **** just goes right thru me.

We have ONE Biodiesel plant left in West Texas. Till yesterday there was nowhere near us to buy it though. A little over a month ago I started asking them to put a pump somewhere near our town and yesterday they did! They put up a 15,000 gallon tank with a pump and it's stocked with B100 made from virgin soy oil. No WVO junk of questionable quality. What sucks is I went to get some yesterday. It was 4 degrees out and the lines were froze solid. That's ok. It'll still be there when things warm up this weekend. FWIW the first three gas stations I went to for diesel yesterday had plastic bags over all their diesel nozzles too. It's just cold here!!!
Buying bio IS better for our engines as far as lubrication goes. It's better for our wallets and better for my piece of mind because it's tax free here and not a single dime of it goes to Obama or Iran! And in most cases it supports your local economy.

I have a station about a mile from my house that sells a BIO blend, but here it is about $.10 a gallon more than dino oil. I'm with you both in getting fed up with this crap. These jokers are playing games with the lifeblood of our American economy.

Unfortunately the biodiesel outlook is grim to say the least. The alternative fuel industry took an enormous blow at the end of 2009 when the government failed to reinstate the subsidies and incentives.

The ethanol industry took this better than the biodiesel one did. Several plants ended up closing and thousands of jobs were lost. Fortunately, we have recently renewed some of the incentives and subsidies, however, with the high commodity prices things are still tight.

The bottom line is that this plants are not profitable unless the government helps them out to some degree.

In Iowa, soy diesel is usually .10-.20 more a gallon than dino... which is a shame when you have the plants in your backyard...

This thing in Eygpt could really shake things up do the Seuz Canal....

The Bio Diesel thing just isn't a good alternative yet. It still takes more energy to MAKE the Bio from scratch than it produces. The technology just isn't there to make Bio production more cost effective than using Dino.

It just burns me to no end that we are sitting on so much energy here in our own country and we can't, no, WON'T tap the resources we already have. From our own oil reserves to oil shale, to coal liquefaction, the energy is here in our own back yards, but our leadership seems to be just fine with making us totally dependent on foreign sources that hate us.

Sorry, this is kinda on of my hot button topics if you can't tell.

Bio here is 15 cents a gallon cheaper than regular diesel. They purposely set their prices 15 cents cheaper the plant manager told me. I'm sure he's making money on it too. It's a good bit cheaper for us since we have a farm too and it's not dyed. It's not required to be since it isn't taxed in the first place. That's just another discount the plant gives farmers to stay under the regular diesel prices.
And farm diesel prices. I'm so glad this place is finaly open here now. 3 other plants went under in 09. This one is new and hopefully has a better business model than the others that relied on the government. That is a big mistake in any business.

And yes, if the suez closes it will be bad for us. I'm still cussing carter for giving up control of Panama. Either one goes down and America, and the world economy really takes a beating. We no longer have the navy to Force them to stay open. That's not good. Back in the 80's and 90's I can't even count the times the ship I was on got sent near one of the canals just in a show of force. When noriega hiccuped we sent in a battleship or some cruisers. Now what do we do?

I think the reality is that until we ignore the envirocommies who have gotten too many "green" laws passed, and purge them from the EPA and other govt agencies who enact regulations without having to get them passed into law thru the proper legislative process, and get rid of our pro muslim president who wants to eliminate conventional fuels altogether, the future of energy in the US is pretty dim.

Ken, can't buy that in this case, there are more cars on the road then there are diesel and i think the taxes are the same on both,so one shouldn't go up and the other down,it's the fault off our politician not wanting to drill, the Bushes had a chance when they were in there, but they didnt do anything either, guess as long as the tax payer's are paying for theirs expense account, they dont care.BOTTOM LINE THEY DONT CARE.

If you guys think any politician is working in your favor to lower fuel costs you are sadly mistaken. Party lines don't matter, they are ALL CROOKED. Explain to me how the senators and what not can get paid a good salary but not enough to make them near as rich as they become. They are all in there for the money and the oil companies have a lot of it (from us of course) to pay them under the table. I know its happening and you should too. Yet, what ever gets done, nothing. Who is there to do anything? Like I said, when they are all crooked, what has happened to our country lately is going to keep happening unless something drastically changes....

While that really sucks and all..... Better you than us!!! We'll probably catch up this summer. I've paid 5 dollars a gallon here before.

AND I also remember filling up for 25 cents a gallon when I was 17 on base. No tax there. That quickly jumped to a dollar but it was nice while it lasted.

I've been pissed off all day thinking about this. No bio at all in WV, unless you make it yourself. Personally, I cant afford to take a chance and run WVO or bio made from WVO. Not enough farming left here to get new oil of some type.
The politicians will never help us because they are making money on oil one way or another and the rich take care of their own. Besides, ever heard a rich politician complain about filling up his limo??
I dont think supply and demand should be legal. How can it be morally or constitutionally right to charge more just because more people want to buy a product? I doubt that every company in the world charges more for a product just because it starts to sell better. Think about something, before deisel trucks became popular, they had to store the deisel in huge tanks, how much does that cost? Now that they are selling more deisel, they have to store less, less maintenance for the storage facilities, less cost to the company.
A few years ago, a news report said that once a barrel of oil reaches the refinery, it takes 3 months till it hits the pumps. So once again these SOB's are raping us by raising the price on fuel that has been refined months ago and at what crude price?
This s*** makes me furious, it wouldn't take much to push me over the edge. If I had a way to get to work cheap, I would park my truck and the oil company's could kiss my ****.

What do you suggest instead of supply and demand out of curiosity?
