Good morning it is! WOW woke up around 5am Smokey mountain time and hit the streets on my road bike. Went from the cabin west of townsend, all the way thru townsend to the smokey mountains. Then went up the mountain to cades cove and got a lap and half there. Talley on miles was around 42 of nothing but hardcore. A couple times I almost turned around going up the mountain, as that was pretty freakin hardcore. Well I feel great and now time to do some hiking. Heck how many people can take a vacation and loose weight all together hahaha.
Biking? Hiking?
LOOK AT THAT BROOK!!! I can't believe the way some folks spend all they time...
A hook on the end of your line is all you need. A worm you know how to thread onto it....
Only use the smallest bb shot, if any. Watch the water....
Wherever you see a "V" of ripples on the surface, cast far ahead of it so that the bait travels in the water and goes where anything that falls in the water will naturally go...
Let it go there...
You want to present the bait as if it had just fallen into the water naturally.
Never use more weight than is needed to half sink it.
When the fish strike - you will feel them hit.
And never set the drag more than 1/3 of the pound test of your line...
(Trout jaws are soft)
Keep your rod tip up!
(It acts as a shock absorber)
Your rod will help keep the fish from suddenly tearing loose...
Only take in line when there is slack, let the fish argue with the pole.
In this way you can land a fish that far outweighs the strength of your line and will not rip the hook out of its mouth - be gentle, and the fish will be worn out.
Regardless - talk to the fly fishers. I'll be interested to hear what they said.
