best description I can give is theres a bolt on the driver side of the transmission just about an inch above the lip on the pan its about it the middle of the trans more so toward the engine, I think the bolt is like 8 or 10 mm, what other guys have done is plumbed it into the lines right before the trans cooler which is a better way to do it in my opinion

I put one in recently and it is a 1/8 npt fitting. The temp. sender screwed right into the port that powerstroker described.

Do you use regular teflon tape to seal the threads? How much tranny fluid is going to spill out?

I might want to do this when I get a truck.

the port is a pressure port so tranny fluid will spill out but not fast or a a lot but it will dribble out

as far as teflon tape use the higher temp one and one that is good for about 200 psi or more just as a precaution

no problem man, i am currently using that port for my tranny temp and trans pressure but later (when i get free time) move my temp sensor up to the tranny cooler. But for all intensive purpose the tranny temp gauge in the pressure port is fine and works great
