Any one try to hook up two temp guages similar to the technique for dual oil pressure guages?
I tried it on my 88 2.9 but couldn't get them to read accurately.
I put in a tube and run tee but the temp would read low compared to the stock location on the intake manifold.
Any suggestions on another place to put a temp sender?
Usually the best thing to do is to either find another place you can tap into a coolant passage directly, or ditch the factory gauge and just run the aftermarket one.
On some vehicles there is enough material on the thermostat housing to drill and tap a hole for the sending unit.
However my new guages are mounted on the lower dash behind the shifters and the wife has a difficult time remembering that they are there. I want to fix it so that she doesn't have to worry about the lower ones as she's the one that DD the truck.
I will look into something on the thermo housing, thats a unique idea.
I'll have to get me one from the junkyard and try it.
